Iganga District is subdivided in 3 counties namely Bugweri, Kigulu and Luuka. The counties are subdivided in sub-counties as shown  below.

County                           Sub-counties
Bugweri                          -Buyanga, Ibulanku,Igombe,Makuutu, Namalemba ,and Busembatia Town Council.
Luuka                             -Bukanga, Bukooma, Bulongo, Ikumbya, Irongo, Nawampiti ,and Waibuga.
Kigulu                             -Nawandala, Nabitende, Nambale, Namungalwe, Nakalama, Nakigo, Iganga Town Council, and Bulamagi.

The sub-counties are further subdivided into 115 parishes. The county, Parish and Village are Administrative Units while the District and sub-counties are Local Governments that are self-accounting and are bodies Corporate. Nawampiti sub-county is the smallest sub-county in size and population . The Administrative structure is summarized in the table below :
